7th Graders Present on National History Day

7th Graders Present on National History Day

February 12, 2018 – Before Winter Break, 7th graders spent three weeks researching an in-depth topic of their choice related to the theme of National History Day – Conflict and Compromise and how this topic relates to local history. In January, they took their research and incorporated it into a project that would effectively communicate their thesis. This project could take the form of a website, historical paper, documentary, performance or exhibit. The unit culminated in a presentation last week in which 7th graders presented their findings to an audience of Upper School students and faculty and staff.

On March 10, about half of the 7th grader students will attend the regional National History Day competition  to compete against other students from the Pacific Northwest with the possibility of continuing to the state and perhaps even national competition. We congratulate the 7th graders on their successful presentations and wish them the best of luck in the competition.
