Brower ’18 Places Second in National Ethics Case Writing Competition

March 29, 2018 – Every year the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill hosts the National Ethics Bowl Tournament, where Seattle Academy has competed twice previously and is returning this year. Students debate cases written by students, for students, that involve complex moral scenarios. This year Gerald Elliott had his seniors in an Honors Philosophy course submit cases to the case selection competition, and Eliza Brower ’18 won second place. Her case was named “Mandated Empathy” and dealt with the Ethics around requiring community service. Her case will be used in the competition next year, and Eliza won a second place prize of $250!

Congratulations to Eliza and her family.
