Bully Busters Earn Award from State Senator

May 19, 2017 – Five SAAS 6th graders, Lilah Amon-Lucas, Emma Beane, Savannah Cockrill, Elise Gundlach, and Sofie Pichler , who lead the anti-bullying group DC Bully Busters, were honored May 5 with Senator Patty Murray’s “Golden Tennis Shoe Award,” which recognizes “people who work to make their communities better.” The DC Bully Busters, which includes girls from six different Seattle middle schools, formed in the wake of last year’s election. The group has organized a letter writing campaign and collected signatures from congressional representatives asking politicians not to bully or be a bystander to bullying.  For more information, visit the D.C. Bully Busters website: www.dcbullybusters.com.

Congratulations to the girls and their families.
