Caputo ‘18 Opens Pop-Up Restaurant for Senior Project

For her Senior Project, MacKenzie Caputo ‘18 is opening a pop-up restaurant. Her journey with cooking began last summer when she took a pastry making class and enjoyed eating the sweets as much as creating them. Ever since, she has been experimenting in the kitchen and taking online classes.

For the first couple weeks of her project, she attended French culinary school in Paris, learning the art of French cooking, especially pastries. Her pop-up gives her the freedom to craft the entire dining experience, from the food to the ambiance. She features a communal table and light dinners that celebrate French desserts ranging from macarons to eclairs. Throughout the evenings, she shares a little history about the food.
