Roman Britain Trip: Mid-Winter Break 2018

Trip Description:
During Midwinter Break, teachers Elin Rummel and Meredith Hale will be taking a group of students to study the history of Rome in Britain.  We’ll be visiting museums and landmarks to see how Romans lived and learn about the ways they changed daily life through technology and invention.

This, however, isn’t just 10 days in the UK; we will be leading students through preparation for this trip, developing a research question they can explore while we’re there, teaching them more about what they’ll see, doing some creative writing and finishing with a presentation night after we return for parents and other welcome guests.  We will meet as a group/club 1-2 times per month after school to work on these goals.

We will be asking students to apply for this trip to make sure they are aware of the academic requirements in advance.  We are also stretching out to include both middle and upper school students, with the goal that upper school participants will mentor the younger students along the way.
