Ethics Bowl Team Competes at National Championship
Following their state championship win in early February, SAAS’ Ethics Bowl Team attended the National High School Ethics Bowl. The National Championship took place at the University of North Carolina’s Chapel Hill Campus during our Spring Break. The team was composed of juniors Grace Vidger, Golda Glasser, Avi Shapiro, Gilly Gibson, and Molly Sanderson. Coach Gerald Elliott, and French teacher Alice Laskin accompanied them.
Seattle Academy’s team discussed issues that dealt with the ethics of working for defense contractors, overpopulation, reparations for slavery, and more. After a strong performance in the early rounds, the team moved on to the playoffs, with the top third of other teams. They finished fifth in the United States, which was their strongest national performance yet. Congratulations to the SAAS Ethics Club!
