March 23, 2017 – Earlier this month, Evin Jaff ’19 was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). The designation “Eagle Scout” was founded over one hundred years ago. Only four percent of Boy Scouts are granted this rank after a lengthy review process. The process includes earning twenty-one merit badges, becoming a Life Scout and taking on various leadership roles, completing a service project that is beneficial to your community, and successfully completing an Eagle Scout board of review.
Evin has been involved in scouting since first grade and has been a member of Boy Scout Troop 600 at Bellevue Presbyterian Church since 7th grade. He has earned twenty-nine merit badges including aviation, engineering, and nuclear science. For his Eagle Scout project, he educated and led more than forty scouts and community members in the removal of invasive plant species at a local park. He completed his board of review on March 16 and will hold his Eagle Court of Honor at Bellevue Presbyterian Church on April 15 at 2 PM.
Congratulations to Evin and his family on this impressive milestone.
