Ski Bus Information

There is a chill in the air, Stevens Pass has already gotten its first now! SKI SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!!!!  So get ready for the very fun, very popular, and very cool SAAS SKI BUS!

SKI BUS REGISTRATION FORMS ARE NOW AVAILABLE (see Forms section below). The Ski Buses will be rolling for six Sundays starting on January 8 and running through February 26. (March 5 is currently reserved as a bonus day, weather permitting.)  Buses will NOT be operating MLK Jr. or Presidents’ Day weekends. Registration for the Ski Bus is available through December 2.  With over 100 registrations to process, it would be much appreciated if everyone would please respect this deadline!

If you’ve never participated in a school ski program before, now’s the time to give it a try….it’s a blast!!!  All levels are welcome, beginner through expert.  We charter Starline luxury coaches to transport us up to Stevens in relaxing style, leaving promptly at 7 AM Sunday morning.  We arrive at Stevens at 9 AM when some choose to take lessons in the morning and free-ski in the afternoon, while some like to free-ski all day.  Chaperones are available to ski with those groups who are still adjusting to the slopes. We check-in with each other at lunch time, and after a SAFE day of skiing and boarding, we hop back on the buses at 2:45 PM for a 3 PM departure.  After relaxing with a movie on the ride home (remember….luxury coaches!) we arrive back at SAAS at approximately 5:30 PM.

Once again this year Stevens Pass is extending SAAS students the pre-season discounted renewal rate for their “Premier Pass,” (Stevens’ unlimited Season Pass) and are also including a deeply discounted “Premium Pass”  with the lesson package.  You essentially have three options: 1) Lesson + Premium Pass; 2) Premium Pass (no lessons); or 3) Powder Pack  WE DO NOT SELL INDIVIDUAL LIFT TICKETS ON THE BUSSES.  The Premium pass option is a great deal and can be used anytime during the season, not just in conjunction with the SAAS ski program, and will be sent directly to you as soon as you turn in your registration forms. The deadline to get your forms to Stevens Pass is December 16. 2016.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who is our contact point at Stevens Pass? Susan Curtis will coordinate our program and answer any questions you have about the lessons or passes Stevens if offering.  Please contact her directly at or (206) 812-7349. We have over 100 registration packets to process so please help us by reading instructions contained in the registration packet carefully.

The access portion (“Premium Pass”) of the lesson package seems really inexpensive.  Is the pricing correct? Yes!  It’s very common for resorts to deeply discount lift tickets to encourage beginners to try out alpine snow sports.  Stevens is offering us great deals so take advantage of them!

Are there any blackout dates on the “Premium Passes”? No. They are unlimited use season passes and can be used any day the pass is open, not just on the dates of our ski program.

What if I already bought my “Premium” pass but would like to take advantage of the SAAS rates? Contact Susan Curtis who will work with you to refund your pass and sell you a new one at our discounted rates.

How will I get my pass? Stevens will process and send your pass directly to your home address if it is a new pass. If it is a renewal, the assumption is that the pass from last year will be used. Remember, the sooner you get your correctly completed registration forms in the sooner you’ll get your pass and be able to get up to the mountain….maybe even in time for the holidays!

Where can I rent equipment? To save time on the mountain, we recommend renting through Alpine Hut located at 2215 15th Avenue West, Seattle, WA 98119; (206) 284-3575.  CALL EARLY AS RENTAL PACKAGES TEND TO SELL OUT QUICKLY! You may also rent through Stevens Pass but please know that you are responsible for returning your equipment at the end of the season.  Chaperones will not transport equipment at the end of the season if you are not able to ride the final ski bus.

Can I volunteer to be a chaperone? YES, we need chaperones and ideally would have at least four each weekend.  Please contact Jeff Sprung (see above) if you are interested.  Space is limited. Priority is given to ski bus coordinators.  Additionally, later in the season there usually are open seats on the bus due to student absences so if you’d like to ride up with us, just show up with your gear and if there’s room we’d be happy to have you join us!

Is the ski bus open to younger siblings or other students who do not attend SAAS? We have a limited number of seats on the ski busses and we typically sell out. Priority is given to SAAS students.
