In December, Metro announced multiple route changes which will go into effect in the Fall of 2012. Of the bus routes that serve Seattle Academy directly, most have minor changes having to do with their turn around points in downtown Seattle. However, Route 2 will have significant changes that may affect our families living on Queen Anne. See ROUTE 2 Below
Seattle Academy will continue to monitor the proposed route changes. If we have any additional information that will affect our community, we will be sure to share that with all families. If you have any questions, please contact Loyal Hanrahan, Facilities and Transportation Manager, at lhanrahan@seattleacademy.org.
ROUTE 2
Currently Route 2 runs from Queen Anne through downtown up to Capitol Hill and directly by Seattle Academy on E Union. The proposed change would eliminate the through service from Queen Anne to Capitol Hill. Instead Route 13 would run from Queen Anne to downtown. Route 2 would run from downtown to Capitol Hill. A transfer would be required for those riders wishing to go from Queen Anne to Capitol Hill (and vice versa).
There is a community group interested in saving the current Route 2. They are encouraging those interested in saving the current Route 2 to voice their opinions via telephone calls, online, and at community meetings where Metro will be present. MORE DETAILS
