Rich ’20 Wins Several Rowing Competitions

Yan Rich ’20 has been rowing with the Pocock Rowing Club on their Men’s Novice team since January 2018. Their 8-man (+ coxswain) boat has done very well this spring. In late April, this boat took first place in their heat and the final at the Brentwood Regatta, a 1500 meter course. They posted a time of 5:00.71 in their heat and bettered that with a 4:58.02 in the final.

At the 2018 NW Junior Rowing Championships, Yan’s boat again took first place in their heat and the final, becoming the first Men’s Novice 8+ boat to win the Brentwood Regatta and the NW Junior Regional Championships for Pocock. Their time for the 2018 NW regional Championships, a 2000 meter course, was 6:35.284.

Yan joins a number of other SAAS students  who row for Pocock as well as other teams around Seattle such as Mount Baker. READ MORE about the benefits of rowing.

Congratulations to Yan, his teammates, and their families on a great season.
