SAAS Athletes, Then and Now, Shining This Spring

May 5, 2017 – As the spring sports season winds down, both current and former Seattle Academy athletes continue to excel.

In track, after breaking the school record earlier this season in both the 100 and 200 meters, SAAS freshman Harlowe Brumett-Dunn won both events at the Lake Washington Track Meet last week and was named the WIAA Athlete-of-the-Week.

That same weekend, Harlowe’s teammate, junior Lake Lewis (above), broke the school record in the 300 meter hurdles. Lake ran the race in 42.02, breaking the record set four years ago by Nick Conklin ‘14.  Both Lake and Harlowe will be competing in the Emerald City League Championship meet on Wednesday, May 10, at noon at West Seattle Stadium.

In lacrosse, SAAS senior Sarah Woo, playing lacrosse for Roosevelt, scored five goals and was featured among the “Top Plays” segment on ESPN (CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO CLIP).  Sarah is second on the team in scoring this season with twenty-eight goals in nine games.

And finally, Daniel Norwitz ’16, a current freshman at the University of Southern California, will be participating in the decathlon at the Pac-12 NCAA Track Championship Meet this weekend in Eugene, OR.  Daniel holds the SAAS school record in the high jump (6’5”) which he set during his senior year.
