SAAS Parent Film Wins Grand Jury Award at SIFF; Schloss ’21 Plays Title Role

September 4, 2017 – SJ Chiro (parent of Jesa Chiro ’19) is an independent filmmaker who recently won the Grand Jury Prize for New American Cinema at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) for her new film, Lane 1974. The film, whose title character is played by freshman Sophia Schloss ’21, premiered at the prestigious SXSW Film Festival and has been traveling to festivals across the country and internationally.
